Tuesday: Day 3
This was one of the easiest days for me. As a college student living on campus, I always walk to my classes in a daily basis. Chapman is a small school, so everything is walking distance. Even though I didn't bring my car to school, if I had it here, I think I would only use it during the weekends, and very few times, almost none, during the week. Before coming to Chapman, I wasn't use to walking, everything was always by car. I have to confess that at the beginning walking was tire and it even made my legs hurt. But now, I really enjoy walking because I know that I'm exercising myself everyday, which is good for my health.
DAY 3: Tuesday: Transportation
Tuesday: Transportation
Today’s focus was on transportation. As a college student, you usually only drive on the weekends and I will be proud to announce I have not driven by car for over a week and a half. So today, I walked to all my classes which was healthy and I burned a lot of calories. As of today, I have saved a lot of gas and been really healthy. Not driving my car has also helped me a lot because I do not have to worry about wasting money on gas, finding parking spots, and also polluting the environment. The only challenge for me, will be on the weekends and I believe this week I can do it. So we will see what the future and the rest of the week holds for me!
Day 3: Transportation
Today was not as difficult for me as yesterday was. Because I live on campus, everything is walking distance. I do not have to drive to my classes nor do I have to drive to get food. I walked everywhere today. I could have gotten a ride to the film school from my dorm, but I decided to walk.

Days 1,2, & 3 Joe C
Day 1 was my hardest day thus far. Being that my Sundays are devoted to getting everything in check for my week including going to the grocery store and Target to pick up food and necessities, cutting out consumption of new items was extremely challenging. Although I was not able to reduce my consumption completely, I did make the effort to cut back. I can definitely see how this could affect my health for the better. For instance, I did not buy as much unnecessary snack foods at the store.
Days 2 and 3 have been much easier. I rode my bike to the dance studio today, and did not drive with my friend. This is also going to be beneficial for my health, however most of the time I am too exhausted to even move my legs after class. This project would work much better for me if it was not in such a chaotic time in my life. I am overwhelmed with so many things right now, that living sustainability is a huge effort. But its one that I am willing to take, so I will keep trying.

No Impact Man Experiment- Tuesday, Day 3
I haven't used a car in over a week. I ride my bike or walk when I need to get places on or off campus. Walking is good exercise and I am able to talk to other people and use my phone. I ride my bike to the dance building sometimes because it is a while away from campus. Its quick and easy, and I don't have to worry about gas, parking, or other cars.
Tuesday Day 3: Transportation
Living in California I found this a very difficult challenge. I am from Colorado and there I am easily able to walk and ride my bike everywhere. I live in a small mountain town so there are plenty of bike paths for society, including myself to use. Here in California I feel that bike paths are not as easily accessible causing less people to ride bikes, walk, etc. There are also so many freeways in the state that it would be very hard and dangerous for one to ride their bike long distances. For traveling shorter distances biking or walking is feasible and I was able to do this today. I feel that if I were living in a different area this challenge would have been easier for me, and probably many others to accomplish.
Tuesday: Transportation
My list of places I had to travel to today was to Chapman. Well I have the opportunity to live so close by to the school, about a 15 minute walk, so I thought this was a great challenge for me. Today I decided to use two modes of transportation, I walked to my class in the morning which was a good experience because it was a nice day in the morning and I had a chance to relax a bit. Later on after I had walked back home and then when I had to go to the FFC class, I rode my bike. I think that since I do walk, ride my bike or take the bus, I feel like in order to improve my experience I should take different routes so I won't get tired of the same route over and over. However as Ms. McNenny pointed out, this is possible for me because I have the luxury to live so close however for students that live far, this is not a possibility which I think is the downside of the this experiment.
