Monday Day 2: Trash
For me personally, I found it extremely hard not to make any trash today. After sorting my trash from this week into seperate piles I found that the majority of the things I threw away, I had used them for less than ten minutes. This pile was comprised mostly of tissues, lined paper that I made mistakes on from doing my homework, wrappers and packaging from newly opened items. The amount of trash that I had in this pile was truly eye-opening and made me realize how wasteful I was being. Starting today I have tried my best in reusing the items that I would normally throw away after using them for less than ten minutes. For example I have started a pile of lined paper that I have made mistakes on and I plan on using it for my scratch paper until it is completely full of writing. Today I have also been using my reusable water bottle instead of buying plastic water bottles. I have also switch the bag in my trash bin to a recyclable trash bag instead of just using a plastic bag. This task today was very hard for me and it has allowed me to be more conscientious about how much trash I make on a day to day basis. To be completely honest it was impossible for me to not make any trash. Although I did not throw away nearly as much as I have earlier this week, I still threw away some essential items.
