Sunday I did not buy anything. AT ALL. I did not buy any boba or tea which I usually get once a week, I used materials I had at home for my Halloween costume, and I just spent time with my church and friend instead of going to shop or thinking about things I wanted to get. I went to the mall because my friend had to exchange an item at Sephora, but I didn't buy anything at the mall which I was slightly proud of. Usually I do shop too much, but by saving my money for better things I will have a better result in the end.
On Monday it was easy to not waste because I usually don't have that much trash to begin with. Items such as food I placed in tupperware containers instead of using napkins to trash everything, and I've only been eating in the cafeteria instead of buying things from Jazzman's Cafe or AF where I would need to trash the wrappers and containers afterwards. For drinks my roommates and I actually keep the bottles so that we can use them later to get drinks from the cafeteria, or to put water in since we bought a water purifier recently. I did notice how I usually buy items that are the cause of me throwing away a lot of things, so it's nice to know that I can change that just by keeping a mindset to stray away from trash and non-reusable containers. Keeping on task for Consumption: My friends and I also went down to the Fuji Grill on Chapman Ave., and they all chose to purchase lunch since the cafeteria is usually closed by the time our classes let out. I did not because I knew I had food back at my dorm and so I decided to also restrain my money-spending impulse, even though it is kind of awkward to be the only one not eating when out with my friends.
