Monday Day 2

When I read the experiment for today I was convinced that I would only have a few items in my bag and I thought to myself no one could ever create enough trash to fill a whole bag. As I went about the day, I collected the trash in a reusable trash bag as suggested and was completely surprised by the amount of trash that I had collected. My bag was very full, almost over flowing. My mom had sent me a package that was full of tissue paper and the box alone took up so much room in the trash can. There were so many little things that I threw away like, candy wrappers, old sticky notes, tape, tissues etc. The challenge that I participated in today really opened my eyes to how much people, including myself, throw away everyday. By involving my self in this experiment I was able to fully understand how much waste I create every day that then translates to how much trash everyone makes everyday. I then started thinking about how all of this trash just adds up over the days, weeks, and years and I saw a completely different perspective on waste.
